About Jennie Ebeling

I am an Associate Professor of Archaeology in the Department of Archaeology at the University of Evansville and an acquisitions editor-at-large for Eisenbrauns, an imprint of Penn State University Press. I have extensive editing experience as the co-editor of five academic volumes, editor of ASOR's Archaeological Report Series, and a member of the editorial boards of the Bulletin of ASOR, Near Eastern Archaeology, Avar, and Biblical Archaeology Review. My leadership experience includes Vice President (Membership) of the American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR), ASOR Trustee, and two-term chair of the Department of Archaeology and Art History at the University of Evansville. I have a great deal of experience speaking on topics related to the archaeology of ancient southwest Asia through the Biblical Archaeology Society, including two summers as a scholar-in-residence at BAS' St. Olaf College Summer Seminar. I won two teaching awards at the University of Evansville and the Charles U. Harris Service Award for long-term service to ASOR. A former Fulbright Scholar, I was also a Lady Davis Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Annual Professor at the W.F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem, NEH Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ACOR in Amman, and the recipient of many other grants and fellowships. I co-directed the Jezreel Expedition, Israel (with Norma Franklin) 2012-2018 and serve as the stone artifact specialist for more than a dozen archaeological projects in Israel and Jordan.
