About Jennifer Bailey

My name is Jennifer Bailey. I graduated in June 2010 from the University of Chicago’s Social Services Administration program with a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Social Work. I have an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Theater. I have experience working with severely, emotionally disturbed youth from a diverse set of backgrounds. I’ve work extensively with youth in a residential setting and have much experience working within the milieu. I have experience providing individual, group and family therapy.I have a strong passion to work with children and adolescents. In my job and internship experience I have been able to use my theater background as a tool of emotional expression and healing for youth who struggle in areas of mental illness or environmental shortcomings. I created a free writing group that allowed students to create monologues, learn the Laban method of movement and perform their original creative works. I also created a plan devoted to exercise and educating youth on personal health. I created a work out program, health seminars and questionnaire to track the outcomes of the program. In May of 2012, I received a promotion to dormitory manager. In this role I supervise 7 people, conduct family therapy with 8 families and facilitate group therapy, along with other case management related duties. In late September of 2014 I transitioned to the Transitional Living Center dormitory where I work with 16-19 year olds and their families. In this new role I continue to have the same dormitory manager responsibilities however working with a population where the focus is on establishing and building independent living skills. As of August 2015, I work at The Keswick School, a therapeutic boarding school in Virginia, providing individual, group and family therapy. Over the past four years I have been working towards getting certified as a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) which I recently received October 2021. Through this journey of getting my RDT I have been able to grow as a clinician and use the knowledge I have gained in my group, family and individual therapy sessions.
