About Jennifer Bleier

As a somatic educator I have the greatest gift of being able to help people rethink patterns-movement and otherwise-that keep them from experiencing their lives to the fullest. I aim to empower self-care, strength, awareness and joy through movement by employing Pilates, Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis and mayofascial release techniques. I'm also a Theatre-in-Education specialist with over 20 years in the field teaching in diverse settings from schools, to youth detention centers, refugee camps, and board rooms. My pedagogy and teaching style is rooted in student-centered education and community-based arts with the belief that theatre is a powerful vehicle for dialog, community building and social change. The theatre making I facilitate helps participants create meaning and understanding of how to position themselves in society as active global citizens. I like to think that these two aspects of my work-theatre teaching artistry and somatics-are not entirely separate. Each practice elevates the other and both call on me to continually hone my intuition, empower my audience, and evolve my praxis.
