About Jennifer Braceras

Jennifer C. Braceras is an expert in federal anti-discrimination law. A former member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights, Ms. Braceras teaches a course at Suffolk Law School on Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Ms. Braceras is a frequent speaker and writer about issues at the intersection of law, politics, and culture. Her work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, the Boston Herald, National Review Online, and various other print and online publications. She has appeared as a guest on CNN, Fox News, WGBH-Boston, WBUR-Boston, and New England Cable News. In 2019, Ms. Braceras founded Independent Women’s Law Center to fight for equal opportunity, due process, free speech, and the continued existence of private single-sex spaces. She served as IWLC’s first director from 2019 until 2024. Earlier in her career, Ms. Braceras practiced labor and employment law with the Boston law firm Ropes & Gray and taught constitutional law and federal anti-discrimination law at Boston College Law School. Ms. Braceras received her j.d. cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she was an editor of the Law Review. Upon graduating from law school, she clerked for the Hon. William G. Young of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and for the Hon. Ralph K. Winter of the United States Court of Appeals for the 2d Circuit. Ms. Braceras sits on the boards of the Catholic Schools Foundation and Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance. She is a former trustee of the Fenn School (2015-2018) and of the University of Massachusetts (2006-20011), her alma mater.
