Background
About Jennifer Cantrell
I have recently been accepted into a doctoral program at the University of Houston in Counseling Psychology after graduating Summa Cum Laude from UHD in May 2009. I will begin graduate study in June. I am interested in meeting other professionals in Houston that work within the children's services realm here in the city of Houston. I would also be interested in a summer/temporary/part-time position working with high-risk children and adolescents in or out of residential treatment. I believe this will be beneficial in gaining experience in my specified area of interest. I would like to eventually use my education and experience to develop innovate new theories and programs aimed at reducing the negative outcomes often associated with these populations. Specialties: I plan to research and study child and adolescent trauma, attachment relationships, and academic self-efficacy in high-risk residential children and youth.
