About Jennifer Cully

Ms. Cully is a member of the Risk Management department where she manages medical malpractice and premises cases filed against physicians and MHHS. She will also be assisting in other legal areas for the system. Ms. Cully started her legal career in St. Louis, Missouri where she represented employers in worker’s compensation cases. Upon returning to Houston, Texas in 2001 she represented physicians, hospitals and nurses in complex medical malpractice cases involving significant injuries and/or death. She also represented physicians in disciplinary investigations before the Texas Medical Board. As part of her Practice she successfully filed, defended and argued many appeals to the Texas Appellate Courts related to expert report requirements under Chapter 74 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, and defended multiple appeals of trial defense verdicts. From 2013-2021 she expanded her legal practice to include construction defect litigation, premises liability, products liability, significant personal injury cases, employment litigation, professional malpractice, and general tort and commercial litigation. Ms. Cully is a Volunteer Committee Member for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Houston. She was the team leader for the Sheehy, Ware & Pappas – Walking for a Cure teams at the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Houston. She also regularly volunteers at the various events for the Alzheimer’s Association. She is a member of AIM, Alzheimer’s Impact Movement, which is the sister organization for the Alzheimer’s Association which promotes advocacy. She also regularly volunteers at her children’s schools and participates in run/bike rides supporting Hermann Park and Baker Ripley.
