About Jennifer Cunningham
I am an educator, arts advocate, and higher education administrator. My music training has provided me with extensive collaborative opportunities, experience in organizational and strategic planning, and attention to detail. I am passionate about the importance of the humanities disciplines in all aspects of Higher Education. In graduate school I was the recipient of several research fellowships for international study. As a result of this travel and study, I have a global perspective in my approach to higher education. I also teach music appreciation, and interdisciplinary humanities courses at Kirkwood. I currently chair Education Day for Leadership for Five Seasons, serve kn the planning council of The Way-Up Conference for Women in Higher Education and was recently appointed to the Cedar Rapids City Band Commission and the Cedar Rapids Historical Preservation Commission. I am an active member of the National Flute Association, Phi Kappa Lambda, Sigma Alpha Iota, the Community College Humanities Association and the College Music Society.
