Jennifer D. Smith I have worked in a job through an outside temporary service with UCSD medical. I was working in the medical claims department, and I loving it. I know that I have not been working that long with UCSD Medical; however I have been looking for this type of work in this field for quite a while. I am looking to expand my career in the medical field as a medical biller. As for now I have been working in the medical field for over fifth teen years. I start as a front office medical receptionist. After doing some research I found that I didn’t have to have direct contact with patients to be in the medical field and found that I have an eye for research, follow up and problem solving. I found that much was needed on the back end in the medical field. Someone had to explain how and what is covered with the patients insurance, someone had to explain the specific type of coverage for a varied of procedures in all general and specialty departments in the medical field. After working at Sharp Rees-Stealy for thirteen years I have my AS degree as a Register Health Information Technologist. I love this field. I love the fact that I can help people without have direct contact. Don’t get me wrong I like people; I am just not comfortable with face to face contact with patients. I am the person that will do my best to make sure that you are aware of your coverage with no surprises. As of now I have chosen not to follow anyone at this time. I need to do some research. None at this time I have someone in mind however I would like to speak with them first.5.
