I’m Jennifer De Leon, also known as Jennun (pronounced genuine), a Mexican-American Latin/Pop/House/Rap recording artist, producer, model, actor, and content creator from Brenham, Texas, now based in Los Angeles. My work is rooted in authenticity, resilience, and fearless self-expression, blending genre-bending sound with culture-forward storytelling to empower voices that often go unheard.I grew up in a low-income, first-generation household, where music became my first source of hope and creative freedom. With no access to industry networks or guidance, I found my voice through band, theater, and choir, eventually teaching myself how to turn artistry into a sustainable career. Learning not only how to create but also how to build continues to shape my perspective as both an artist and a creative professional.In just 3 years, I’ve gone from posting music online to becoming an Official SXSW 2024 Artist, performing across Texas and New York, and serving as a Lead GRAMMY U Ambassador for the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy. I’ve been featured in the Recording Academy Newsletter, Austin Woman Magazine, the Austin American-Statesman, and various radio stations and podcasts, and I’ve spoken on panels including Stay Social All Creator Panel and Austin Latinas Unidas during SXSW.I’m a proud mentee of the GRAMMY U Mentorship Program, Creative Futures Collective x Soho House, and Symphonic Women Empowered Mentorship Program, continually investing in my growth as both a creative and an entrepreneur.Musically, I release bilingual records in Spanish and English. My first fully Spanish single, “QMVA (Quien Me Va Amar)”, was distributed by EMPIRE and released on VEVO, marking my first major-label distribution and a milestone toward my debut album Mejor Sola, which has been submitted for GRAMMY consideration across multiple categories.Beyond music, I’ve built a community-driven personal brand at the intersection of culture, events, and storytelling. I’ve partnered with brands such as Tequila 512, Unwell Hydration, Volada Vodka, and Yerba Madre, and I curate and host Scene & Heard, a music, film, and entertainment mixer uniting creatives and industry leaders across various disciplines.At the core of everything I do is the belief that music is more than entertainment—it’s empowerment. My mission is to redefine what it means to be genuine in today’s industry, proving that authenticity is not a liability, but a strength. Through every song, show, and story, I aim to inspire others to stand confidently in who they are and build something meaningful from it.
