About Jennifer Grasso

After graduating high school in the top 20 of my class, I majored in the Dietetic Technician program at Suffolk County Community College, where I received my Associates in Applied Sciences with the Highest Distinction. With a recommendation from my professor, I landed a job as the first Dietetic Technician (DTR) for a national home infusion company, which became subject for an ASPEN poster. As a DTR, I worked with adults and children living at home with parenteral/enteral nutrition. Within my first four years, I earned Employee of the Quarter twice. I shaped my role to fit the company & consumers’ needs. I took on a leadership role to my peers and gave inservices and participated in QA audits. I was chosen to conduct research for an ASPEN poster. I left in the summer of 2011 to pursue a dietetic internship. During most of my employment at CVS/Coram, I studied at Queens College. I earned my Bachelor’s, graduating Summa Cum Laude. I graduated from Stony Brook Medicine's Dietetic Internship Program in June of 2012 & successfully passed my registration exam. A year later I graduated from Stony Brook University's Health Care Policy/Management Program, earning my Master's of Science in August 2013. Since becoming an RD, I have worked primarily in skilled nursing facilities, specializing in short-term and long-term care, nutrition support, ventilator-dependent residents, policy development and quality assurance. I am looking for a challenging and rewarding job in nutrition, whether it be in acute care, community, outpatient nutrition, or in another skilled nursing facility.
