About Jennifer Holmes

Former Maths Teacher turned Data Engineer. After several years teaching in both international and UK schools, I made the transition into data engineering—bringing with me a unique ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and work collaboratively under pressure. At Repton Abu Dhabi, I contributed to the school achieving its highest inspection rating, and navigated remote teaching during the pandemic, helping 90% of students make significant academic progress. I’m now working at Time Out, where I build and maintain data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). I work with SQL, Dataform, and Looker to transform data from various sources—including website analytics and point-of-sale (POS) data from Time Out Markets—into actionable insights that support business decisions. In past projects, I’ve engineered data centralisation pipelines processing over rows of data, integrating multiple sources, and optimising query efficiency. Technical Skills: • Python • SQL • GCP • Dataform • BigQuery • Looker • AWS • Databricks • Airflow • git I'm based in Cambridge, UK, and outside of work I enjoy netball, CrossFit, and running. I completed the London Marathon 2024 in support of Caudwell Children and will be taking on the Manchester Marathon in 2026. Let’s connect!
