About Jennifer Lambert

I have always had a passion for working with children. As soon as I was able to I was babysitting my mothers' friends children and helping with the younger classes in school. In high school I had two co-ops, one in a daycare setting where I worked with infants and toddlers and the second in a kindergarten classroom where I also volunteered to assistant coach the girls volleyball team. Also in high school I was volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara in their aquatic programs and once I turned 16 years old I took my National Lifeguarding Certification and Swim Instructors courses and started lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons. I am extremely passionate about swimming and teaching everyone to be safe in and around the water. I have taught courses for students 3 months of age to adults, including advance aquatics and aqua fitness programs. This turned into my career after university when I became the Aquatic Supervisor for the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara. I found my new roll now challenging but very rewarding. I was now teaching the teachers, talking to parents and community partners and working with the management team and board members. After having four children and loving being home with them I have had my heart set on completing my Early Childhood Education Certification. I enjoy being with the children, they make me smile, enjoy the little things in life and remind me that being silly is ok. I am learning about the pedagogical approach in play base learning, the development in physical, social, cognitive and psychological domains of childhood and working with children with special needs. Through the 600 hours of placement I have many hands on experience with children infant to age 12. Every day is a new learning day I can't wait to see what I learn next.
