About Jennifer Laster

After working in education for the past seven years I learned a lot about the kind of leader I see myself being. There is a misconception that all leaders must be the loudest and biggest personality in the room when I believe that it is the people who get done what they promise to be the best leaders. Within the past three years I have worked tirelessly to learn different skills in leadership and worked on multiple school wide projects. As part of the MTSS and DEI committees I focused on student success. Serving as the AP/PSAT/ACT/SAT assessment coordinator with some assistance to CMAS I learned the importance of structure, consistency, and communication. While working on the gap analysis team for English and History curriculum I was able to identify deficits in our program and support teachers to make improvements. Finally, as a mentor to a student teacher I learned how to work closely with a teacher to strengthen their curriculum and behavior management skills. I am a hard working and dedicated individual to the world of education. Given a chance to prove all that I can do I know I will flourish and better the school I work with. I may not come with decades worth of experience but I have skills that cannot be taught, skills that are intrinsic. When considering who you want working for your school think critically because high risk = high reward.
