About Jennifer Mann

I have six years of direct clinical patient care in the Emergency Department. As a relief charge nurse, I have learned how to effectively communicate and organize the daily workflow among my fellow co-workers. My co-workers often come to me for guidance and information on policies to expand their own knowledge. I have participated in reviewing and implementing new policies in my department to help ensure better care for our patients. I also have experience as the department educator where I develop and implement orientation and skills training programs for all levels of nursing. I have advanced into a leadership role by improving communication, building self-esteem, delegating tasks and demonstrating positivity and trustworthiness within the department. I have assisted with development of the Emergency Department Unit Based Councils. I have five years of HEDIS abstraction experience while maintaining an average quality score of 95% or greater. Because of my high-quality score, I have moved to the over-reader role to help ensure quality standards are met. I have used several EMRs to access data. I have an intense passion to learn and to develop new skills. I was highly active throughout my organization’s Epic EMR transition. I served as a subject matter expert for design and build process, assisted with application testing, and developed system wide policy changes based on new EMR. Because of this experience I will be starting my master’s degree of nursing informatics in August.
