About Jennifer McLaughlin

I support adults experiencing stress and anxiety symptoms, including difficulty adjusting to significant life changes, loss, and trauma. I partner with clients to set therapeutic goals and teach tools that increase well-being, communication, coping, and self-regulation. Specializing in trauma recovery, I provide an informed and empathetic space for adults to desensitize and reprocess memories with the goal of reducing present-day symptoms without re-traumatization. I have professional and lived experience supporting the overcoming of trauma and anxiety symptoms while navigating the strengths and challenges of neurodiversity. I'm trained in neurodiversity-affirming protocols and practices. I work to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship considering each client's individual needs and tailoring an individualized treatment plan. I use a strength-based, integrative approach to therapy with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, advanced training in EMDR, advanced coursework in trauma-informed treatment, and certifications in somatic techniques and "Safe and Sound" protocol to help calm the nervous system. I'm also a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist (CGCS) with experience supporting suicide survivors and a Certified Autism-Informed Professional and Neurodivergent-Affirming practitioner with lived experience supporting the needs of Autistic adults.
