About Jennifer Mora

As an entomologist, insects hold a special place in my heart. My interests specifically fall in the medical and veterinary side of entomology. I am currently the Northeast Regional Sales Manager of Mosquito and Vector with Central Life Sciences. Previously, the entomologist with the Hartz Mountain Corporation. I am also a part time student at Rutgers University pursuing my Masters degree in Entomology. My thesis aims to develop an artificial feeding system for the American dog tick, Dermacentor variabilis. When developed, this system can be applied to studying tick physiology, pathogen transmission, as well as the evaluation of acaricidal products. Previously I obtained my Bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Entomology. During my undergraduate studies I worked with Dr. George Hamilton on parasitoid biological control of stink bugs as well as with county mosquito control programs Additionally, I am very active and hold several positions with professional societies. Currently I serve as the chair of the Public Relations Committee and am co-chair of the Website Committee and Newsletter committee for the New Jersey Mosquito Control Association. I also am active on other NJMCA committees such as Education and Program. I am also involved with Entomological Society of America in their Education and Outreach committee (Eastern Branch Representative), Communication committee (MUVE section), and the Eastern Branch Student Affairs committee.
