About Jennifer Reed

Jennifer is a new york based, australian performer. she was born in the uk and raised in south east asia. she holds a bachelor of music in music theatre from the australian institute of music (aim). during the course of her studies she performed in lovebites, hash honey, virgins: a musical threesome and dusty: the original pop diva. prior to studying at aim, she was in the world premiere of john williamsons quambatook. she also starred as luisa in the musical nine while completing her certificate iv in music theatre at the actors college of theatre and television in 2006. her other credits include children of eden which she performed for stephen schwartz, mrs walker in the who's tommy, sylvia torpy in the 2012 sydney fringe festival favourite, frank christie/frank clarke and as part of the cast of stephen sondheim's assassins, at melbourne's fortyfivedownstairs and the australian regional tour. jennifer appeared as lady gaga in the play gaga v assange for melbourne midsumma festival and adelaide fringe festival to critical acclaim. jennifer has had the opportunity to work with acclaimed composers jason robert brown, adam guettel, john bucchino, ryan scott oliver and andrew lippa, as well as new yorks leading casting and music directors. jennifer has performed numerous times at feinsteins 54 below and greenroom 42. her debut cabaret, jen & john has seen two successful seasons at the butterfly club and was part of the 2013 melbourne cabaret festival program. she is an accomplished singer/songwriter, having released her debut ep choose soul to international success in 2004.
