As the Professional Affairs Manager at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), I leverage my 29 years of experience and credentials as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to support the advancement and excellence of the specialty. I am passionate about developing multilevel relationships, delivering exceptional customer service, and managing projects and budgets effectively. I have in-depth knowledge of dental and oral and maxillofacial office models, multidisciplinary teams, medical continuing education, and patient safety. I oversee several AAOMS committees and education programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and practice of oral and maxillofacial surgeons and their staff. My responsibilities include managing: Committee on Anesthesia Committee on Cleft, Craniofacial, and Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Committee on Facial Cosmetic Surgery Committee on Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery DAANCE Advisory Committee Waiver process for the American College of Surgeons Additionally, I oversee key education programs, including: Office-Based Emergency Airway Management (OBEAM) Anesthesia Assistants Skills Lab Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Exam Anesthesia Assistants Review Course Advanced Protocols for Medical Emergencies in the OMS Office I am proud to contribute to the mission and vision of AAOMS and to help enhance the quality of care and outcomes for the patients our members serve.
