About Jenny Beacon

I am an accomplished professional with over 30 years experience in Customer Service and support environments including the charity sector and blue chip companies.My current role at the Port of Dover includes promoting all aspects of CSR within the Port and the wider Port community, producing the annual CSR report, event planning and actively promoting the work of the Port of Dover Community Fund. Other responsibilities include the successful implementation of an employee volunteering scheme and employee engagement 'app' to develop the internal communications for all staff.Support functions in other organisations have included Regional Manager for Customer Care operations, Corporate Responsibility Manager and Employee Volunteering with project and event management skills and experience.I am experienced in developing volunteering policies and programmes with businesses who are on the beginning of their CSR journey.I have delivered large employee volunteering days including Give & Gain Day across the South East involving over 500 volunteers. I also have experience in the management of collaborative business / education partnerships that led to successful delivery of high impact interventions for young people and increased business engagement.I have ran my own retail business turning the shop into a profit making establishment.I have experience and knowledge of working with young people who are NEET and provided support and encouragement to help young people find employment, further training or education.
