About Jenny Kiffmeyer

I began my retirement services career with Universal Pensions, Inc.(UPI) in 1993 as an IRA and retirement plans technical consultant. At UPI, I held the roles of consulting manager, managing editor and, following the BISYS acquisition of UPI, manager of ERISA content. In 2004, I left BISYS to join the PLANSPONSOR Institute and, eventually, Retirement Learning Center in the role of director of educational content. Writing and research is my passion, which has resulted in a strong track record of producing award-winning educational content and published pieces for various industry periodicals and newsletters. I have played a key role in developing several professional certification programs in the retirement services industry for the American Bankers Association, PLANSPONSOR, the Retirement Income Industry Association, the Retirement Advisor University and the National Association of Plan Advisors. I have served on the Consumer Advisory Board for the Pension Benefits Guaranty Corporation. I am a co-author and the editor of Retirement Learning Center’s book, Retirement Resource Guide: Essential ERISA Education & Best Practices for Financial Advisors, which has been the recipient of multiple APEX Awards for publication excellence, and serves as the basis for Super CE course work. In 2016, I fulfilled my goal of earning a Juris Doctor (JD) from Taft Law School, specializing in ERISA law. Previously, I had earned a B.A. in communications and anthropology from Luther College, and completed graduate work at Bemidji State University in Minnesota. I also maintain the Certified IRA Services Professional and Certified Retirement Services Professional designations from the Institute of Certified Bankers.
