Unloading trucks for UPS in Louisiana while working my way through college, I never could have imagined I was launching a career that would take me to the highest levels of the world’s biggest and most respected transportation company. Today as one of the company’s most senior community relations executives I design and implement transformational initiatives that keep UPS at the forefront of the community. A social responsibility pioneer, thought leader and valued member of executive teams, I have been promoted to mission-critical roles to drive change. I have built highly engaged teams and served as the face of UPS to hundreds of community and civic groups, interacting regularly with high profile private, community and civic leaders. Performance highlights… Political Advocacy | Thought Leadership – Participated in developing UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)/Agenda 2030, as well as UPS’s global community relations strategy with Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship. Global Engagement – Conceived of and led Road Safety, the UN’s SDG UPS employee activation and social media campaign, and UPS’s most aggressive goal of 20M volunteer hours by end of 2020. Strategic Planning – Appointed to community planning team to set programs oncommunity engagement; Modernized approach to building knowledge and skills of 2500-person engineering team at UPS. Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships – Brokered meetings with high-profile individuals for UPS CEO on diversity and community engagement. Designed and led first-ever Global Volunteer Month, engaging 150K employees. Issues and Crisis Management – Served as chief strategist and spokesperson for major crises including hurricane Katrina, Harvey and Irma; program was model for development of UPS’s Logistics Emergency Team. Employee Engagement and Communications – Redesigned company’s community recognition awards and events, increasing employee participation and contributing to company winning many notable awards.
