About Jerald Kimble

I make it my top priority to treat others as I would want to be treated, to listen to them, and to serve them to the very best of my abilities. That has always been my utmost goal, whether I am working with students, vendors, researchers, other colleagues, etc. To me, the key ingredient is listening - hearing the person's heart, getting a sense for the real need, acknowledging that need, and then working to find a way to acknowledge, and even to meet, that need, if possible. I have specialized in exceptional customer service throughout my professional career, including the last 19 years in the field of higher education while serving in the areas of Accounts Payable (employer and vendor payments, 1099 tax form preparation, & vendor maintenance services) and Research Administration (proposal review & submission and audit & compliance). My passion for serving others is evidenced by the fact that I have supervised staff, developed training materials for new staff, and presented courses for the Research Administration certification program at UIUC. I have also served on a variety of committees & working groups, even being a vital member of a Social Committee focused on the overall well-being of each member of our departmental staff. I am also currently in a graduate program with the goal of obtaining my Master of Social Work degree in 2025. My passion is to serve as a trauma therapist, with a specific focus on survivors of spiritual abuse, religious trauma, high-control religious groups, etc. As I continue to journey toward this goal, I am presently working as an MSW Intern at (removed as a safety precaution), primarily assisting with counseling. Specialties: analytical thinking & detail-oriented; public speaking; empathic listening; customer service skills; humble & selfless leadership; adaptability, flexibility, & teachability; discontentment with the status quo & a willingness to challenge the process.
