Jerek earned the red seal certification (RSE) in 2005, and was awarded the certified working chef (CWC) designation through Humber College and the Canadian Culinary Institute in 2010. Jerek did his formal chef training at Conestoga College, and completed the advanced chef program at Humber College, graduating with honours.Currently, Jerek oversees the production operations at Cookie It Up! Inc- a HACCP certified, “small batch” high-quality industrial bakery, focused on large-scale retail, including private labelling. Along side his role as Director at CIU, Jerek teaches part-time at the Centre for Hospitality & Culinary Arts at George Brown Polytechnic.On his spare time, he can be found managing his son’s soccer team, and taking up his hobbies of horticulture and mountain biking.
