As an Aerospace Physician Assistant hired full-time by Mayo Clinic’s Aerospace Medicine & Executive Health team, I’m honored to stand at the intersection of high-altitude physiology, human performance, and advanced clinical care. My path to this role has been forged through over two decades of service across emergency departments, battlefield medicine, air medical transport, and operational military environments. I bring a unique combination of real-world emergency and trauma experience with academic expertise. As a board-certified Physician Assistant and current Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) candidate, I specialize in wilderness/disaster medicine and global health. My clinical background encompasses in-flight medical care and extensive emergency and critical care experience, ranging from rural and underserved emergency medicine to high-acuity urban emergency departments. Additionally, I currently serve as a commissioned U.S. Navy Medical Officer in the active reserves, providing care in austere and remote environments, and previously served as an Army National Guard search and rescue flight medic on the frontlines of combat operations. These diverse roles have honed my ability to deliver high-quality care in dynamic, high-pressure settings across both civilian and military contexts.
