About Jeremy Mattea

I have dedicated my life to the thrilling world of motorsport. With a profound passion for both mechanical work and racing, I have established myself as a respected figure in the racing community. From a young age, I immersed myself in the intricacies of motorsport. At just three years old, I eagerly took part in mechanical endeavors, working on Vern Hamilton's Elfin 623. This early exposure fueled my desire to contribute to the sport. I actively participated in renowned events like Speed on Tweed and Historic Queensland, which provided invaluable experiences and shaped my understanding of motorsport dynamics. In parallel with my mechanical pursuits, I devoted myself to preparing and maintaining my father's Bulant Mk7 Sports 1300 and later the Infiniti Sports 1300. These experiences not only honed my mechanical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the meticulous preparation required in racing. My passion for racing developed alongside my mechanical endeavors. I took my first steps behind the wheel at the age of 11, quickly mastering the art of driving. Starting with the team's newly built Hyundai Excel, I honed my skills and progressively transitioned into competitive racing. At just 14 years old, I enthusiastically participated in hillclimbing and sprinting events, showcasing my talent and dedication. By the age of 15, I embarked on my racing career, where my commitment and determination propelled me to new heights. One notable highlight of my career was my involvement in the construction and ongoing development of Dean Tighe's hillclimb special during the summer of 2012/2013. This experience allowed me to contribute not only as a driver but also as a valuable asset in optimizing the vehicle's performance. In 2021, I encountered a setback when a suspension failure resulted in a severe accident, ultimately writing off my car. Undeterred by this challenge, I faced it head-on and built a new car with the unwavering support of my sponsors. This experience further deepened my mechanical expertise and reinforced my commitment to success in the motorsport arena. Through my talent and accomplishments, I have been fortunate to establish partnerships with esteemed organizations. Currently, I am proud to be competing in the ex-Gary Goulding Spectrum 05C, representing the collaboration between Mattea Motorsport and TGG Motorsport. Together, we strive for mutual growth and success, constantly pushing the boundaries of performance.
