Many of my personal pursuits typically involve physical goals- think Ironman Triathlons, Ultra Marathons, etc. These are events that demand that you show-up having mastered certain skills and prepared yourself physically and mentally for the challenges ahead. At first, the thought of completing one of these events can leave you feeling humbled and unsure about your own abilities. and includes building a strategy that supports each ingredient for success and has a cumulative effect on your overall capabilities and mindset. For most, it is not enough to buy a new pair of shoes and go run a few times a week.
