About Jericka Williams

I am a problem solving, science driven scholar. I am skilled at seeing the bigger picture, analyzing complex situations, and critical thinking. Skilled in computer technology, my passion for science spans well into the healthcare field as well. I have participated in sports medicine internships, hospital shadowing, as well as currently pursuing my Medical Assisting license. In the future, I aspire to make a positive difference in the lives of all patients I have the chance to treat and help them live happier healthier lives. I think my leadership style leans more towards task orientation, yet still includes plenty of relational orientation. While I do deeply care about people, meeting goals and making change is what really drives me. I value hard work and dedication to one's goals. No matter the obstacle, it is important to keep making strides toward accomplishing what it is that you set out to do. I feel as though leadership is a partnership between the leader and their followers. Leaders respect themselves first, so that it is easy to respect others. Regardless of difference of opinions, leaders can recognize and consider both sides of an issue. I think leaders should display integrity at all times and be transparent with their followers. Leaders should also always set the example that they expect others to follow. Strength based leadership is using our characteristics that we demonstrate when our performance is at its best, to lead others. To lead with your strengths I think means to be yourself and not try to be someone you are not. Strengths will naturally show through and people who admire them will naturally follow behind you and be drawn towards you. My strengths according to Myers Brigg code Campaigner ENFP-T are: Curious- If there is something in the world I do not know about, I naturally want to familiarize myself with it. Observant- When chasing my curiosity, I often learn through observing. Excellent communicators- I find this to be one of my greatest strengths. There is never a question of what I am thinking or planning because I always communicate these feelings with those around me. Know how to relax- Sometimes I am super energetic and outgoing, but other times I know how to just take a step back and enjoy a slower paced life. Very popular and friendly- Growing up I've always been well known in school and other settings and friendly to everyone, even those who were not my actual friends. Ultimately, my mission is to graduate from my undergraduate studies with the knowledge and experience to be successful in my future endeavors.
