About Jeritza Acevedo

First and foremost, I identify as a daughter of God. Growing up, I often felt like I fell short of expectations and struggled with feelings of not being enough. With God’s love, however, I found acceptance, and this connection grounds me and reminds me that I am valued and loved. I’m passionate about advocacy, inspired by the support I received during some of my toughest challenges. Not all the time did I have community support, and I know others may not have had that support either. I’m here to help fill that gap for those in need. With the assistance of caring case managers, counselors, and a strong community, I navigated experiences of homelessness, domestic violence, and mental health struggles, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts. Today, I’m committed to helping others learn how to advocate for themselves, using my journey as a testament to the strength we can find through support and faith. Finally, I am a public speaker. I believe my story holds the power to uplift and encourage others. By sharing my journey, I aim to help others feel less alone and inspire hope that healing and resilience are possible.
