About Jerome Collins

Jerome Collins is a former Emmy Award–winning investigative broadcast correspondent and print journalist. Collins has taken his more than 10-years of experience in public speaking, communications and professional development, and channeled those talents as a guest presenter and motivational speaker. He has lectured on such topics as “Establishing the Right Professional Image,” “Ethics in Investigative Journalism,” and “Essentials of Resume Writing and Marketing Yourself for Success.” Collins has been requested to guest lecturer at numerous venues and academic institutions including the University of Southern Mississippi, University of South Carolina and South Carolina State University. Currently he teaches at Remington College in Columbia, South Carolina where he instructs students in Career Development Fundamentals and Career Development Principles. He instructs in resume and cover letter writing, self-marketing, interviewing techniques and the importance of maintaining a professional social media presence. Collins is also CEO of Resumerebuilder.com, a professional image and writing service. While reporting, Collins covered Hurricane Katrina which won him “Best Investigative Reporting” by the Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters Association. Later on, Collins won an Emmy Award with WLTX-television in South Carolina for “Investigative Reporting,” in addition to gaining national exposure on Headline News and the CBS Morning Show for reporting on the scandal surrounding former South Carolina Governor, Mark Sanford. After retiring from television news and prior to earning an instructor position at Remington, Collins was sought after by the City of Columbia’s Public Relations Department as a media consultant.
