About Jerome Ehmann

I am licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as an LPC and LISAC and am a National Certified Counselor with the NBCC. I recently opened my private practice and left a position as clinical director of an outpatient program before starting my second role as clinical director for a residential program. Trauma therapy is my great passion and I am trained in EMDR therapy and hold a Master Level Certification in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I also love helping to develop students and newly licensed counselors and am registered with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to provide supervision for interns and associate-level counselors. I use a person-centered approach in my supervision and am very much a servant leader. Prior to becoming a counselor, I spent 20 years in the restaurant industry, and my leadership style shares similarities to my counseling approach. Therapy and supervision need to help others realize and develop all of their potentials. In counseling, I consider the treatment of underlying conditions and past traumas when working with clients. I also believe that many mental health issues should include evaluation of past traumas that are problematic or have influenced the client’s choices and behaviors. I hold memberships in the International Society of ART, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, the American Counselor Association, the AzCA, and the Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society for Counseling. I graduated cum laude with a BS in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. I also earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I have completed doctoral-level courses for counselor education and supervision, and I will begin dissertation work on burnout and correlation to treatment methods.
