Equine Imports for Sport USEF / USHJA “R“ licensed Judge and Trainer Certified Pro in Hunters, Jumpers, and Hunt Seat Equitation – Halbleib started competing as an amateur in 1982 after taking lessons at the Flintridge Riding Club in Pasadena, CA. During the mid 80’s he trained at Hunterdon, Inc. and brings with him over 40 years experience of teaching methods, problem solving skills and the search for perfection he learned from Chris Kappler, Frank Madden and Anne Kursinski. While at Hunterdon, he competed in the A/O Hunters, A/O Jumpers, 1.0m thru 1.50m, National Grand Prix, and World Cup Qualifiers. He has produced or conducted clinics throughout the US and Mexico. While coaching all levels of riders - his riding and horse show experience includes: Montreal, Lignier, Bern, Neauchatel, Lac Lugano, Geneva, Wellington Winter Equestrian Festival, Arizona A to Z, CC Gulf Coast Winter Series, Devon, the National at Madison Square Garden, Pennsylvania National, Washington International, Los Angeles Hollywood Charity, the Hampton Classic, Brownland Farms, RMI Series, Equus Events Series, Georgia International Horse Park, AHJA, THJA, GHJA, PJA, and NJHJA horse shows. Riding “Springlight“ he jumped 7 ft. in the Puissance class at the Hollywood Charity Classic. Halbleib and his trainer sold the horse “Rocko 17“ to the Japanese Equestrian Team for the 1988 Olympics. He has taught and demonstrated in over 75 riding clinics, appeared in over 20 television commercials and judged at more than 150 USEF sanctioned horse shows – most notably the USEF Olympic Sports Festivals in San Antonio ’93 and St. Louis ‘94. Halbleib has been judging USEF / USHJA rated horse shows for over 35 years in addition to IHSA and NCAA / NCEA Equestrian competitions for 25 years. He earned his BS degree in Psychology from Abilene Christian University in 1981.
