About Jerome Patterson

I am passionate about helping people! Whether I am working with a small business or individuals needing guidance with planning their financial future, I thrive on creating financial strategies that will assist them in making sound fiscal choices and understand that financial planning is a process, not a product. My business experience is as diverse as my education. I am a Certified Financial Planner and a licensed CPA. I have also become very knowledgeable in Social Security claiming strategies and am currently studying behavioral finance. Keeping current on income tax changes and planning strategies is a primary focus and interest of mine. I enjoy the challenge of and have been successful at representing clients with income tax and retirement plan controversies with the IRS. Another client employed me to represent their plan before the Department of Labor with a favorable result. I accomplish this by demonstrating my extensive knowledge and by creating trust and rapport with my clients and the government representatives. This has furthered my interest in consulting with individuals on financial planning (with an emphasis on personal income tax). Outside of business, I am in my third year on the Board of the Financial Planners Association (FPA Minnesota) and I volunteer with Underdog Rescue (St. Louis Park). My belief is that financial planning is more of a calling than a vocation. I spend a lot of my free time reading planning articles to keep current, and my leisure time is spent at my lake home which provides the well needed balance of work and pleasure.
