Background

About Jerome Wright

My passion for enabling technology has been set since childhood. Witness to the transformation from landlines and dial-up to mobiles and wifi, my curiosity was strengthened and chose the path of computing and engineering.Through my studies at the University of Bath I specialised in DSP and embedded programming, prototyping an indoor position location in my final year.I started my career supporting aerospace technology at Thales, programming DSPs for audio comms and satellite modems. After Thales I joined the fast-paced software team at Dyson, with involvement in a lot of projects throughout the development lifecycle.Currently I am developing software for exciting next generation aviation technology, involved in the design, development and maintenance of software supporting our prototype and certification programmes. Over the years I have come to be a great advocate for agile methodology, in particular scrum, and its applicability to not just software but engineering process in general.Engineering finds also its way into my personal life. I enjoy (far too much) taking things apart or coming up with custom solutions for my own needs.I place great value in the ability to be curious and give things a go. Not afraid to pick up a soldering iron, power tools, or a calculator, I enjoy creating and changing the world around me. For me, skills learned are just as important as the tangible outcome. My appreciation of signals also compliments my love for music, and in my spare time I enjoy sound design and music production.Aside from my love of technology, I also aspire towards a more open planet. I have been studying and have a basic grasp Chinese language. This is mostly for personal interest but it also betters myself, exercising the brain and improving understanding of the world.
