Mr. Gaertner is President at Managed Analytic Services Inc, a company which he co-founded in 2013. He is also Executive Director of the Digital Legacy Institute, Principal at Bizcom Group (AI Risk, Compliance, Governance) and PT Professor of Computer Science at Durham College. Mr. Gaertner has 30+ years of technology, risk management, audit, security, and compliance experience, much of which was gained at two major multinational accountancy firms. Through his own corporations, he provides Board-level advice and assistance to clients on predictive analytics / big data, technology governance (including AI), automated fraud detection, IT organization structure, computer security and technology risk management. As a CPA, he provides professional services directly in the areas of IT controls and compliance, security and privacy effectiveness and digital forensics. Mr. Gaertner also assists clients with CSAE, CICA, SSAE and SOC computer certifications and audits. Mr. Gaertner is a qualified CPA, CA, CITP, CFF, CISA, CISSP, CIPT, CGEIT, CFI (ret.) and CIA and formerly a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. He is co-author of three books on insolvency (Carswell) and numerous articles on topics ranging from continuous auditing to privacy-enhancing technologies to the future impact of technology on professions. Mr. Gaertner is a leading expert in the emerging fields of AI governance and control, and digital legacy, highly regarded and sought after as a speaker and lecturer and has been interviewed and quoted on a number of occasions in national and international media. Mr. Gaertner is Past President of the Canadian Information Processing Society – Ontario. He is former adjunct professor of computer science at Ryerson University (cybersecurity, computer law, digital forensics), former lead instructor (big data analytics) at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies and former Board member of various professional societies.
