About Jerrick Wan

Hi, my name is Jerrick. I am currently a Year 3 student studying in the Diploma in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics in Temasek Polytechnic. I have always been interested in the field of IT, especially Cybersecurity. I also understand the importance of defending networks, systems and programs from those with malicious intents. It is important for the existence of specific roles to address cyber attacks and protect sensitive information from threat actors and adversaries. I aspire to be a penetration tester in the future. I think that being a penetration tester allows me to detect and uncover any vulnerabilities in an organization's network, which will aid the organization I am helping in improving and patching any vulnerabilities found in their infrastructure. This allows for immediate remediation of any security flaws in the system.Through my course of study, I have learnt various modules that have helped me increase my knowledge in the field of cybersecurity and taught me how to me a better cybersecurity professional. I have done many modules that have helped, such as Ethical Hacking and Intrusion Prevention. This module. in particular, has helped me understand more how a threat actor thinks, the penetration testing process, various threats that exist, and how to counter them.
