Background

About Jerry Bakut

With over 18 years of experience in the policy field, I am a passionate and driven consultant who works with IFC and World Bank Group to address complex and impactful policy issues in various sectors (with a special interest in Special Economic Zones) and regions. My mission is to use my expertise in policy research and analysis, data interpretation, and evidence-based recommendations to shape effective policies and improve public outcomes. First as a public servant and then as a consultant, I have contributed to several projects that involved conducting in-depth policy reviews, assessing policy gaps and opportunities, developing policy frameworks and guidelines, and presenting policy findings and proposals to stakeholders. Some of my achievements include developing a policy strategy for the transformation of Special Economic Zones in West Africa and facilitating a policy dialogue on Special Economic Zones. I have also leveraged my LL.M. degree in IT and Telecom Law to provide policy advice on emerging issues such as data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion.
