About Jerry Deegan

I recently retired and am looking to mentor or consult with Catholic or private school leaders or leaders of nonprofit organizations. In my 45 years in Catholic education I have been an English teacher, counselor, assistant principal, principal, and president. I have been a coach, moderator, and served on numerous boards. My goal in Catholic education was always to help provide students with a faith-based education that will help prepare and guide them through life. Dowling Catholic High School provided me with the opportunity to work closely with parents, students, staff and constituents in a wonderfully caring and focused community with a strong sense of family. The culture of the school promoted faith formation and continuous professional improvement for faculty and staff. I strongly believe that the atmosphere at Dowling Catholic provides guidance and direction for a person's faith journey, activities and opportunities to help become the best version of oneself, and a commitment to others that models servant leadership.
