About Jerry Starnes

With over 30 years of combined experience in law enforcement, public service, and military operations, I am a dedicated and versatile professional who strives to make a positive impact in my community and country. Currently, I serve as the Alabama House Representative for District 88, where I advocate for the interests and needs of my constituents, especially in the areas of justice, public safety, and education. I also hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and the position of Battalion Commander in the Alabama Army National Guard, where I lead and manage over 600 soldiers and oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of complex missions and training. I have a master's degree in Justice and Public Safety from Auburn University at Montgomery and a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University. I have acquired and demonstrated multiple skills and competencies throughout my career, such as evidence, law enforcement operations, leadership, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and strategic thinking. I have also received numerous awards and honors for my service and performance, such as the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. My mission is to serve and protect the people of Alabama and the United States with integrity, courage, and excellence. I am passionate about improving the quality of life, security, and opportunities for my fellow citizens and Soldiers.
