About Jerryl Christopher

Since childhood, I have been obsessed with solving Rubik’s cubes. I find joy in manipulating the individual pieces and applying algorithms. These experiences have fueled my interest in data analytics - a field where I aim to find the hidden narrative in a maze of data. During my time as an undergrad, I had the opportunity to work in interdisciplinary groups, tackling problems that directly affect students. Utilizing my skills in R and SAS, I studied the effect of lead-contaminated water fountains on the well-being of students. My work at UNC reignited my love of finding patterns, leading me to an internship at Wake Forest School of Medicine. I used non-parametric tests in R and SAS to analyze clinical and demographic data relating to quality of life for individuals receiving usual epilepsy care, culminating in the publication of a research paper. These experiences led me to pursue my Masters at the Institute for Advanced Analytics at NC State University. Here, I am developing my understanding of data science and building my programming skills in Python, R, and SQL. When I am not behind a screen, I enjoy playing sports, particularly tennis and pickleball, and I am an avid UNC basketball fan.
