About Jess Rist

Nonprofit work has been a passion of mine for many years. As a young child, I began raising funds and awareness for Susan G. Komen in honor of my aunt who was diagnosed with breast cancer and for the National MS Society in honor of my mom who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I began with selling bracelets and putting up donation canisters in town. After the death of my aunt, I developed an unwavering commitment to fighting the diseases plaguing my family and the community. Selling bracelets turned into selling t-shirts, which turned into hosting bake sales and tournaments, which turned into running capital campaigns and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars through fundraising and grants. And I am just getting started. Nonprofit work is challenging. Nonprofit work is important. Which is why I have dedicated my life to fighting and advocating for the causes that are important to me and to my community. I am happy I get to make a difference in the lives of others every single day. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
