About Jessan Jeffries

During my time at California University of Pennsylvania I found my niche in the Biology department. I have always loved science and always strive to keep learning new things. Starting my college career with full intention to enter a medical profession, I soon realized that I was much more passionate about the environmental aspect of Biology. Entomology, Plant Taxonomy, and Botany all peaked my interest and built on a skill set that I had been un-intentionally developing through hobbies since I was a child. I have had a passion for the outdoors my whole life and spend a great deal of time taking in the intricate relationships between my garden plants and the insects that pollinate and prey on them. There are more insects on our planet then any other species and most of them are more specialized and intrinsically connected to their environment than we are. Insects and plants are good indicators of what is to come and the adaptability of life on Earth. Never stop learning and follow your passions, but always balance your work with your personal life.
