About Jesse Abelar

My name is Jesse Abelar. I am a Manufacturing Engineer and Certified Solidworks Professional at Fender Musical Instruments Corporation where I work with a team of engineers to support Custom Shop and Production manufacturing processes, design tooling and fixturing, and fabricate custom parts for unique builds. My duties include: • Designing and manufacturing tooling for new and existing production processes using SolidWorks, MasterCAM, and various CNC mills and lasers. • Troubleshooting process failures/deviations and implementing corrective action. • Reverse engineering guitar necks and other parts using Creaform scanners and VX Elements software. • Creating facility layouts for process flow optimization and expansion using AutoCAD I graduated from Cal State Northridge with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering where I was also a Student Drivetrain Engineer on the CSUN Formula SAE Team. I was fortunate enough to work with a handful of other students in designing, analyzing, testing, and manufacturing an SAE compliant racecar. This project allowed me to develop a strong foundation in design and manufacturing that I use to excel as a manufacturing engineer today. I am fortunate enough to be working for Fender in a position that allows me to enjoy my passion for guitars while utilizing my skillset to make a positive impact on products I believe in. Outside of work I enjoy playing and assembling guitars from kits/parts and designing solid-body electric guitars in SolidWorks.
