About Jesse Arledge

I am a Furman University alumnus with a B.S. in biology and I am currently taking a gap year in Greenville, South Carolina. Originally, I was on the path to dental school and my previous experiences/course work reflects this. As of now, I am redirecting my career path seeking to gain additional experience in the field of conservation biology in the forms of internships, volunteer opportunities, or paid work so that I can further strengthen my professional portfolio and be a more competitive applicant for graduate programs. Having grown up fishing and spending my free time exploring the wilderness, I am interested in how I can help solve many of the issues facing the conservation of our planet and its flora/fauna. Specifically, I wish to focus on fisheries and hatcheries due to the important part that these have played in my life. I hope to do work that promotes the longevity of these aquatic resources, so that future generations can share the same access and benefits that I gained from them.
