About Jesse Brydges

I am very excited to apply my knowledge in wind engineering, CFD, mechanical engineering and environmental engineering to exciting and new challenges. I am particularly interested in fluid dynamics, renewable energy, aerodynamics and environmental studies. After completing an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering, I became involved in the wind engineering industry. In this setting, I improved my skills in report writing, communication and data management and analysis. This industry also exposed me to wind tunnel and CFD testing. I developed a strong interest in wind engineering and decided to combine this knowledge with my interests in sustainability and energy. This led to a Master's in mechanical engineering with a MITACS accelerate partnership between RWDI and the University of Calgary. My thesis investigated forces on solar modules due to wind and the flow characteristics around these units. I am currently working in the transmission and distribution sector where I am expanding my project management skills, report writing and technical knowledge of the subject. Communication and coordination has been a crucial component in this role, and I am grateful to be exposed to these experiences. I hope to contribute the experience and knowledge I've gained throughout my professional and academic experiences to exciting engineering projects. I am excited at what I can contribute to new fields, and equally excited to continue growing my knowledge and developing new skills.
