About Jesse Cope

I joined Parsons School of Design this fall as an incoming freshman and have completed my first semester. After completing my first year at Parsons, I have decided to major in interior design. My current education has taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and dedication. Attending college is helping me to build on the skills and work ethic I developed in high school and has shown me the importance of surrounding myself with new people with all types of backgrounds. I feel inspired to do my best and bounce ideas back and forth with people with different perspective. As a high school student, I participated in the STEM program ensuring that I took the most rigorous classes offered while maintaining a 4.5 weighted GPA. During this experience, I learned and thrived under a demanding workload that sharpened my study and organizational skills. Outside of school, I have taken on several jobs that have helped me become an efficient and productive team member. My past positions have required me to be able to lead a team as well as be a successful supporting member by helping out wherever needed. I pride myself in adapting to new environments and taking what I can learn from each place or experience and applying these lessons to the other areas of my life. During the pandemic I became fascinated with how our environments effect our mindsets. This led me to the field of interior design. I want to create spaces that are functional while invoking an emotion. Thank you for your time!
