I am a student at Mount Saint Mary’s University studying for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Sociology with an emphasis in Medical Sociology. My goal is to continue my education in Social Work and Nursing Practice. I have been involved with medicine since my senior year of high school where I triaged injuries on the sidelines of football games. While I pursue my BSN/BSS I work as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician leaving the bedside of the hospital to tackle the disparities in skilled nursing facilities saving lives one blood specimen at a time. I chose Nursing and Sociology to help Improve the quality of life and health of those around me on sociological and medicinal bases. Prevention of chronic illness, morbidity, and mortality can be done through education - educating the public and assisting them with disparities and socioeconomic issues can in turn advance their ability to live healthy lifestyles.
