About Jesse Floyd

For more than seven years, I was the manager of HIM clerks at a 25-bed critical access hospital in southeastern Georgia, working in Health Information Management/Medical Records. I oversaw the day-to-day operations of the department as well as retrieve and analyze data and create reports for the organization.I then made the jump to IT, supporting the HIM, Case Management, and Utilization Management departments for a large healthcare system in eastern Tennessee. I handled everyday issues and maintenance including workflow problems or reporting while also working on projects that automated HIM processes by utilizing the meta data in our EHR.I've since returned to Health Information Management. In this role, I oversee and manage the HIM Section. My goal is to assist the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in it's mission to serve veterans by improving care and making our department operate more efficiently while increasing veterans access to their records. I am particularly interested in working with health information and the transition to an electronic health record. I also enjoy working with data, including the workflows that influence data generation,(e.g. statistical, productivity, etc.) to create reports that provides meaningful information. I am a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), its state association, and the North Georgia Health Information Management Association. Since 2014, I am a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
