About Jesse Hanson

Healing begins in the heart, but transformation happens when we awaken the wisdom of the body. For over 25 years, I've walked the path between ancient wisdom and modern science, helping people reconnect with their authentic selves through the power of embodiment and bi-hemispheric integration. My journey began with my own healing after profound loss at age 23, leading me through intensive study of both indigenous healing modalities and Western clinical psychology. This unique integration of somatic psychology, neuropsychology, and ceremonial practices has allowed me to develop transformative approaches to trauma healing that transcend traditional talk therapy. I've served as Clinical Director at Helix Healthcare Group in Toronto and helped establish several innovative wellness centers before moving to Costa Rica to create Atman Retreats, where we guide individuals through deeply transformational experiences that honor both scientific understanding and sacred tradition. My work focuses on somatic trauma reprocessing, helping people move energy that's been trapped in the body, creating lasting integration between mind, body, and spirit. I believe we're all "left brain junkies" in need of right-brain reconnection, and I'm passionate about teaching people practical tools to access their own innate healing capacity. Featured on A&E's Intervention, trained with leading experts like Dr. Gabor Maté, and soon publishing my first book on the mind-body connection in trauma healing. Currently based in Costa Rica where I live with my family, leading retreats and online training programs that bridge modern clinical practice with embodied wisdom.
