About Jesse J. Sharp

Natural born analytic thinker and fan of data with a concern for and curiosity about healthcare: medicine, medical devices, public health, pharmaceuticals, care delivery, healthcare financing and health policy (aka biostatistician/data scientist). Open and articulate, I am known for presenting complex analyses to a variety of audiences in an understandable and interesting way. I love writing and speaking, anything from a journal article to the reviled slide presentation. Whether it is via phone, email, one-on-one, or in a group I am able to communicate effectively, engage others and participate. My idea of fun is helping subject matter experts with their data analysis and statistical challenges. Fearless when it comes to data I don’t require “clean” data to work with; I want to get to know the “raw” data, especially for a large project. • Dissertation assistance with design, methods and analysis, including quantitative, qualitative and mixed designs • Expert in the analysis of medical data including bills and claims arising from inpatient, outpatient, pharmacy and other related services • Topics include: Fraud detection, poly-pharmacy, provider networks reporting, analysis and creation, clinical outcomes, episodes of care • Able to develop complex statistical models for both descriptive and predictive uses (see my list of courses for specifics) • Tools, software: primarily SAS (+15yrs, SAS Base Certified), MS Excel/spreadsheets; also, SQL, MS Office, Cognos, Bi-Query • Currently using SPSS, R, JMP, NVivo and others • Learning Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, etc. • Primarily Windows based but can work in Linux, Unix and other environments Accepting projects from basic method and code review to doing the analysis, solving the problem and then sharing the formatted results with you.
