About Jesse Kessler

I am a licensed Master Electrician in MD, Va, and D.C. who has been working in the Electrical trade for 27 years in various capacities. Much of my experience is in institutional commercial work (i.e. schools, prisons, government facilities, etc.) but I have a well-rounded background in various other aspects of the electrical field such as DOT work, utility infrastructure, industrial, and residential. I began my initial training at Star Electric in 1997 when I was 16 years old, starting as a laborer and working my way through apprenticeship school to become a Journeyman Electrician. I then left Star Electric and began working in the residential field. While less lucrative monetarily, the experience gained more than made up for it as this was far more NEC code focused. From there I began my own journey into the business world, operating my own business in the residential/light commercial field until the housing market collapse of 2009. After closing up shop, I moved into the DOT field at Fort Myer Construction in DC. Quickly moving from field personnel to Foreman, then Superintendent, and onto both Superintendent and PM. Much of this work was with PEPCO, DDOT, VDOT, the City of Fairfax, the City of Falls Church, MDOT, and PG County, entailing traffic signals, street lighting, intersection cameras, vehicle detection systems, etc. After leaving the DOT field I returned to commercial work and have successfully completed several projects in various capacities. I am very proficient in the means and methods associated with commercial and industrial installations. My proficiencies extend beyond simple means and methods, I am very familiar with fire alarm system installations, lighting control systems, security and building automation rough ins, as well as integration and coordination with all systems. My focus is in solving problems that do not yet exist by reviewing all submittals, specifications, and contract language to determine what is owned, what is not, what claims are specious and what claims are legitimate, where costs exists and where loss exists. I focus on the specifics of items, from light fixtures to all coordinated items on the roof, underground and otherwise. I believe my well-rounded background and technical experience would be an asset to any organization.
